This movie is based on the book by Lauren Weisberger, and follows a young assistant through the perils of her new job for the high end fashion magazine, Runway. The young assistant, Andrea, is fresh out of college and is applying at places all over New York City, when she receives a call back from Elias-Clark where Runway off ices are. She gets the job as the assistant to Miranda Priestly, the editor-in-chief of Runway. Andrea is not the usual assistant for Miranda, considering fashion is on the bottom of her list of important things and her true passion lies in writing.
Andrea soon realizes that working for Miranda is not like working for any other, usual boss. Miranda is demanding, cruel, and acts as thought she were the queen of the world. Andrea finds that she must cater to her every whim unless she wants to loose her job. This movie take you thought the trials and tribulations of a young girl truly working for, "the boss from hell."

Book Review: One of Those Hideous Books Where the Mother Dies (Sonya Sones)

This book is the tale of a girl named Ruby who is forced to move to Los Angeles when her single mother dies. She moves to L.A. because that is where her father lives and he is an Oscar-winning actor whom she has never met in her life. She must deal with parting from her best friend and her boyfriend and try to fit in with the sophisticated and very different lives of teenagers going to high school in L.A. She is forced to live with her father, a man she utterly hates, who never even attempted to come and visit her for the duration of her fifteen years. In this book, Ruby must make do with the new life that she has been given and at the same time cope with the death of her mother. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book and that reading it will really show you that the problems you have are far less than some of the things that other have to deal with, people in every day life who have to go through what Ruby went through in this book.

This story is a chilling tale about three kids who end up on the street running away from everyone. Curl, Curtis, and Boobie are on their own, trying to get away from everything they every knew. Boobie was the oldest, the caregiver to the other two. This book shows the lives of children that were never loved and what happens when three kids are abandoned and left to their own devices. The kids end up on the road with a stolen baby trying to stay alive and stay away from the police at all costs. this book will surprise you and amaze you, but will most of all wake you up to things happening in our very own world today that we don't even realize.
