Series Review: The Chronicles of Narnia (C.S. Lewis)
The Chronicles of Narnia is a great tale. In this series the celebrated Christian writer C.S. Lewis weaves a tale of fantasy adventure and, oddly enough, morals. In the land of Narnia, human beings rule but the citizens are talking beasts and other mythical creatures such as centaurs, dryads, unicorns, and many more. There are times when no human sits upon the throne and at these times a hardship usually falls upon the land of Narnia. When such an incident should arise, children are usually called from our world into Narnia to save the day. There is a lion in this land of Narnia that goes by the name of Aslan. Aslan is the creature of Narnia and is near all-powerful. Some say that C.S. Lewis is trying to portray him as a Jesus sort of character and this is very likely because at one point in time he actually does die for sins committed by a young boy. All in all I think that this a book for fantasy lovers of all ages and I don't believe you have to be Christian to appreciate the moral values portrayed in this book and the lessons it can teach us to live by in our everyday lives.
