Movie Review: Revenge of the Sith

Get out your lightsabers, the saga is ending. George Lucas’ world renowned saga, “Star Wars” has ended its circle, with the May 19th release of “Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.” This movie was the best “Star Wars” film yet.

In “Sith,” Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) transforms from the cute, little boy on Tatooine that we saw in “Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace” to the hideous, evil, Darth Vader from the original “Star Wars” trilogy. Anakin is tempted by Chancellor Palpatine/ Darth Sidious to turn to the dark side to try to stop his wife, Padme (Natalie Portman) from dying at childbirth.

In the end, however, Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan Mcgregor) have the final lightsaber battle on the lava-filled planet, Mustafar. As Anakin tries to kill Obi-Wan, he slashes at him, and Anakin is burned by the lava, as Obi-Wan screams, “You were the Chosen One!,” the final thing Anakin will hear him say. The Emperor saves him by creating the black suit, which is synonymous with Darth Vader.

In the end, Padme dies giving birth to Luke and Leia, her twins, who are the subject of the original “Star Wars” trilogy; Anakin never accomplished what he wanted.

The movie was fantastic! Even reading the book before didn’t ruin the movie for me. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this a 10 or higher. May the Force be with you.
