Antoine de Saint Exupery, a French aviator during WWII, wrote the book, “The Little Prince (or in French, “Le Petit Prince). I’ve read this book in English twice, and I’m currently reading the French version. This is, by far, the world’s most bizarre book; Saint Exupery is the narrator, telling a tale of his childhood, where he saw a picture of a snake and tried to mimic it.
Then, the narrator tells about his airplane crash in the Sahara Desert, when a little boy (the prince) comes up to the man and says, “Draw me a sheep.” Now, if you’re stuck in the middle of the desert with no food and water, and a little kid comes up to you and asks you to draw him a sheep, is that bizarre? The man draws several sheep, but the Prince dislikes them. They begin to talk and understand each other, and the Prince takes the man to his home planet and they travel across the universe. This odd pair meets an alcoholic, a workaholic and others.
Wow! what a bizarre book! Saint Exupery wrote this during WWII (1943), and one year later, disappeared after his plane got shot down.
